Tripod Case Hunting Spotting Scopes

Birds of prey. Birds that hunt for food using there keen sense of vision. They hunt vertebrates and can include other birds. Their talons and beaks are relatively large and are powerful for tearing flesh. In most cases, the females are larger than the males. They maybe called a "raptor" and which might refer to all birds of prey. Because of their large size and predatory lifestyle, they face conservation concerns.

Some Birds of prey are as follows:

* Eagles tend to be large birds with long, broad wings and massive feet. Some eagles such as the Booted Eagle have legs and their feet are feathered to the toes and they build very large stick nests.

* Ospreys are a species found worldwide that specializes in catching fish. They also build large stick nests.

* Kites have long wings and relatively weak legs. They spend much of their time soaring. They mostly feed on insects or even carrion, but will take live prey also

*Hawks are medium-sized birds. They are mainly woodland birds that hunt by sudden dashes from a concealed perch. They usually have long tails for tight steering.

*Buzzards are medium to large size raptors with robust bodies and broad wings.

* Harriers are large, slender hawk-like birds with long tails and long thin legs. Most glide on their long broad wings and circle low over grasslands.

* Vultures are carrion eating raptors. They have heads either partly or fully devoid of feathers.

*Falcons are small to medium-size birds of prey with long pointed wings. They are swift flyers. Instead of building their own nests, falcons use old nests of other birds, but will lay their eggs on cliff ledges.

* Owls are variable-sized, typically night hunting birds. They have particularly acute hearing.

The Bald Eagle is a bird of prey found in North America. It is the national bird and symbol of the United States of America. Its range includes most of Canada and Alaska, all of the contiguous United States, and northern Mexico. It is found near large bodies of open water with an abundant food supply and old-growth trees for nesting. Bald eagles are not actually bald, the name deriving from the older meaning of the word, "white headed".

Local Demonstrations

If you have ever been to a show or a raptor demonstration you can see how the words regal, majestic can be used and still be wanting in describing them. The eyes are sharp clear intense, and don't miss any movement.

You look at the talons and the claws even look sharp and the grip is sure footed. The feathers look well preened and shiny, everything about the birds just holds you in awl.

Great ways to observe birds of prey

A spotting scope is a small portable telescope. They are used for bird watching and other activities like hunting and marksmen, for surveillance, and for any other application that requires more magnification than a pair of binoculars. Used with a tripod you will get a clear crisp image.

Binoculars most companies make a binocular that will stabilize the image to a degree so me companies that make these binoculars are Nikon Canon Casio Kodak Sony Pentax Panasonic Fujifilm and Olympus.

These companies also make spotting scopes.

Bird watching - birding - twitcher what ever you want to call it. It can be all consuming, many people travel the world just to observe birds. Most of the time you don't have to travel very far you just have to wait and let them come to your area. Most birds of prey migrate with the seasons so just look listen watch and wait.
