how to sight in tactical rifle scope?
I'm new in long range shooting/hunting and i tried to do zero the rifle as a regular zeroing on browning 7mm rem mag using talley one integrated scope rings on barska swat 10-40x50 30mm tube rifle scope but after zeroed @ 100 yds i loosen the elevation and windage turrets pick it up and set it at"0" on both turrets and tight it up.But after doing this i barely got any correction left on my elevation and this is the second rifle scope that i'm getting frustated on coz i thought the first one was defective so i returned it.Some people even suggested to put some alumumium cut sheet from can coke under the rifle sope so it would tilt the rifle scope forward and would give some elevation.i don't know what to do.Plz Help.
You should check the alignment of the rings themselves before you even place your scope in them. If the rings are not properly aligned, when you tighten the rings down to hold the scope, it is actually bending the scope tube. This is so little you would not notice by looking at it but it is easy to tell if she won't shoot straight. Get a pair of ring alignment bars and check it out. It is well worth the money spent. Wasted Ammo + Wasted Time = Ring Alignment Bars.
Why do you move the turrets? Just curios. I never do that. I just write down what they sit at and keep track in a log book. Was it shooting tight before you loosened the turrets?
