Stirling Gold Crown Scopes
How do i zero my nikko scope with my HW77 k gun, to makea good humane kill of vermin.?

Had my gun and scope about about a 2 months now an i love it,
when i first got it it was zeroed in @ 30m fine,
then let my friend use it for a few days, when i got it back i did not check it!.... 2 days later went hunting on farm land, when i see a rabbit
i got its head in my sight and shot, but the shot missed its head and went in its rib cageish about 3in to the leftt of the rabbits head.it was in a lot of pain so shot it @point blank. i was well peeed off with my mate when he told me played around with the scope. as i would never take a shot to injure.
so how can i adjust my scope to how it was before?
my scope is a nikko stirling gold crown 4~12x40 and the rilfe is a
hw77k with a ox mainspring in.
plz can you help as the last time i adjusted a scope i broke it.
thanks.
