Can you bring your own weapon to combat in the USMC?

I've been seriously considering joining the Marine Corp and was wondering weather you could bring your own weapon or if you could only use the one issued to you. This includes both a handgun as a side arm, and a rifle as a primary (not that I own a military grade rifle, I'm just curious) and would it make a difference if the rifle used a STANAG magazine? Also can you accessorize your issued rifle with things like forward grips, or red dot scopes?
to "evolve or become extinct", that is why I said the thing about STANAG magazines, better known as the M-16 magazine.
I'm afraid I kind of have to join the Marine Corps, I am in the Naval ROTC.
and want to be infantry
also, does the Marine Corps issue a side arm to infantry and if so what is it?

no you cannot bring your own weapon, thats MILITARY wide.
your CoC might allow you to use your own forward grip, but that's CoC's discretion.

if you want good gear, join the army. marines are still using bare bones m16a4s, almost every army infantryman has a m-4 complete with ACOG, PAQ system and surefire. plus we'll garuntee infantry, the marines wont garuntee ANY mos for you (you might put down infantry as your preference, but if they want you to be a cook then you'll be a cook)
