Simmons Aetech Scope Mounting Problems...Please Help!!!?
I have a Simmons Aetech 4-14X44 Master Series Scope... When I mount it in the rings (Leupold 1") and tighten them, the adjustable parallax wil not work. It's like the tube is too big. Everything I have read about the Scope says the tube is 1"... I just went and bought new rings just to make sure, but I still have the same problem..
Can someone please help!!!???
Thanks for the input guys, I took the gun to a smith and he has fixed the problem. I was tightening a little too tight, but when they aligned the scope, it was over adjusted (probably due to it being on a Cetme with a mount that wasnt straight). So they put it back to factory zero and it works just fine now. Thanks again!
rings tightened too tight. you don't need to put the MAN- MOUNTAIN MIKE GORILLA GRIP on when mounting scope rings.
Did you pick up some powdered rosin? That rubbed inside the rings will do more for slippage that over tightening the screws... that breaks scopes
