In guns sight what is meant by windage and elevation?
I heard a statement in a podcast that " it is (the gun's sight) adjustable for elevation but not windage" what is meant by it and how does it affect the accuracy
Imagine throwing a ball. The farther you need to throw it, the greater the arc you need to use. That is the elevation or vertical adjustment. It works in accord with the rifle and ballistics of the shell to adjust for distance.
Windage is the horizontal adjustment. This moves the barrel to adjust for left to right sighting. Put it all together and you end up with a bullseye!! With some practice. LOL
