What is the laser/scope at construction sites?(details inside)?
Whenever I am at a construction site, I saw two men: One is looking at some laser machine on a tripod. there's another man a couple of feet away with a stick. What are they doing?
It's probably a laser level. They measured the height of the laser from the ground at the laser. Then they can walk around with a stick and measure the height difference between the ground at the stick postion and the ground at the laser position, or between two (or more) stick positions around the construction field. Also works for setting up suspended ceilings, or any other task in which one needs to carefully measure small height differences over a long distance.
