Scope Side Mount
What round is better for hunting a 5.45x39mm or 7.62x39mm?

Thinking about getting an AK. Need to know what is better for hunting deer and home defense. The AK WILL have folding stock and side mounted scope. Also need to know how good an under folding wire stock is and which round is more accurate.



if your looking to defend your home the 5.45mm AK74 is a much more modern weapon much more accurate but it wont do you any good for hunting its basically a .22 size round with a larger casing for a higher muzzle velocity . if i was you and was looking for both self defence and hunting i would by the AK74 and id get my self a 7.92mm Mauser k98 its an amazing rifle bolt action 5rnd stripper clips and it would be more then enough to blow the socks of that dear but to much i find its a good size for dear and as for your stock i would not go with the under folding stock they are bothersome the side folding ones are much better so go for the aks 74 or 74 u over the ak47 they are more modern and just as reliable if not better
