good scope for a Remington 870 shotgun?
i have a remington 870 combo with a 20" fully rifled slug barrel on it. i already have the mounts for the gun, and i want to put a scope on it. which scope is good? i dont know much about scopes for shotguns especially, so i need some help
Nikon SlugHunter 3-9x40 Will allow you to accurately shoot that shotgun out to 200 yards. $249 @ Cabelas
Another option is the Leupold VX-I shotgun scope. It is a 2-7 power as opposed to the Nikon's 3-9 and is parralax free at 75 yards as opposed to Nikon's 100 yards. It is also a little cheaper at 200 bucks.
You said you already have the mounts, don't skimp on the rings! A really nice scope can be made cheap with bad rings. I only use Leupold Rings or if they are not available, the Warne Rings will do in a pinch.
