Scope Mount Combo
Featured Scope Mount Combo For Sale:
which is a better gun the savage 111 or the weatherby vanguard.?
im looking to buy a deer rifle and purchased a savage 111 on sale at a sporting goods store. It was a combo deal for the savage with a mounted scope it ran me $399 +tax. The weatherby vanguard righ now is $399+tax but does not come with a scope. I heard the weatherby is a better gun and comes with a moa of 1 1/2 inch. So should i stick with the savage 111 that i already purchased or should i return it and go with the vanguard. Thanks for the replies.
I've never been too impressed with the Savage bolt-action rifles. But that's just me. My reasons? They use so many cheap looking stamped metal parts on the guns. But, others swear by their accuracy.
The Weatherby Vanguard is something I know a little about. Historically, these rifles have been made in Japan by Howa. Howa has an outstanding reputation for quality. The action that they use is a copy of the old original Sako action. (Think in terms of Lexus and Mercedes. Lexus copies Mercedes and usually turns-out a superior product.)
If it were me, the choice would be simple and I wouldn't think twice - Weatherby Vanguard all the way.
