Rifle Scope Saiga
Just getting into rifle optics and don't know what scope is best for me, do you?
As the title says, I'm getting into optics for my rifle and dont know much about all the [number]x[number] and stuff or what some of the better quality ones are or anything for that matter really. Don't want something too serious or too crappy.
Anyone have any tips or suggestions?
The rifle it will go on is a 16" Saiga on the AK platform chambered in 7.62x39 so I will probably only zero it between 200-300 meters. It's an Izhmash with a chrome lined barrel and are known for excellent groupings.
Budget right now is around $50-$60 dollars, may give or take a little. Thanks!
200 to 300 yards with that rifle is a little on the ambitious side.....
The 7.62x39MM cartridge is a decent cartridge at limited ranges --- Its fairly flat shooting to 200 yards but then drops quickly after that.... Look over this ballistics chart....

Figure on 100 to 200 yard shots.... If you will be shooting steel gongs / plates then 300 yard shots are possible.....
$50 to $60 is only going to get you crappy.... You have to cough up at least $130.....
Look this Nikon over.... I have a couple of these and they have been reliable and a pleasure to own....
