22 Cal Scope Problems?
I have just purchased a 4-16x40 CENTER POINT Scope from wal-mart, the scope mounts are too large for my savage mark II 22 cal rifle. I would like to know what kind or how big of mounts i need to put on to make the combo work out. Thanks!
Usually a .22 comes with a dove tail milled on the top of the receiver. Get a set of .22 rings that clamp on the dove tail. Just make sure if you have a scope with a 1" tube you get 1" rings. 1" is pretty much standard but they also make scopes with 30mm tubes. Also with a 4X16X40 make sure the rings are high enough that the objective lens clears the barrel. Good luck with the new scope.
