Gunsmithing Question?

I own a 870 Remington supermag. I recently bought a Deer slug barrell for it and it has the cantilever scope rail. Ive hunted two years with the scope and have had success and losses but my shot are never dead on and nearly impossible to hit a deer running throught the woods with the scope. So my question is does anyone know a website or somewhere i can find info on removing the cantilever rail and converting to regular slug rifle sites????
Thanks in advance,
Nick
That's sights. not sites lol

As a Gunsmith, what you are asking to do is possible but hardly practical, and would be very cost prohibitive (expensive) Since the Cantilever Scope Rail is "attached" at the Remington factory with industrial solder and mag arc processes.

You are taking on a lot to think that you will be able to hit a running Deer with ANY scope mounted shotgun. You would be much better off to sell your Cantilever railed barrel and buy a new Remington 870 barrel with the rifled sights already installed. Even if you attempted to do this yourself the HARD way, you would spend more in parts and refinishing the old barrel, than you would buying a completely new one...

There are no websites because it is impractical to do....
