Remington 700 front sight thread size?
I have had my remmy 700 for about a month now, and have added a Bushnell Banner scope, harris bi-pod, sholder strap, limbsaver recoil pad, and a uncle mikes cartridge holder. The gun is looking really nice, but since I have the scope on there I took off the sights, looks a lot cleaner to me. But I want to plug those holes and I need to know the thread size of the front and rear sights. They have a lot of screws at tractor supply, and I have bought some there before to plug holes in my paintball gun.
As a Gunsmith I can tell you the "Plug " screw size you want for your Remington 700 is a 6-48 thread size...I sincerely doubt if Tractor Supply would have such screws in their inventory, because it is a high specialized filler screw used only in Gunsmithing....If you can't find them there. go to your local Gunsmith or Gun Shop and see if they will sell you a few.
