How many feel we are getting way to?
Technical in our sporting equipment?
Reels with computer chips to control back lashes, side view sonar, etc.
Rifle scopes with range finding abilities and being able to show you the drop of the bullet.
Come on I might be 60 but still consider hunting and fishing a sport.
With all the tech stuff showing up on the market pretty soon your reel will do everything, what fun is that going to be?
Granted both my boats have GPS/Fish Finders and most of my reels are not cheap. But if this keeps up where will the fun and the sport of chase be left.
Our waters and lands are being pressure way to much as it is.

Gimman part of what you stated is why I quite fishing T's and the political aspect that started emerging. It no longer was fun and/or relaxing.
Hrmph. I worked at a bass boat dealership, I know what you're talking about... people with $30, $40, $50 thousand dollar boats, top of the line this, that, and the other. They go and fish tournaments and call fishing "work". I think when you call fishing "work" it's time to throw away your rods.
Just because all this fancy schmancy stuff is available doesn't mean we have to use it. There will always be lazy people who hunt and/or fish simply for bragging rights, and want the easiest way to get the best trophy. This doesn't mean we have to break down and support the system.
When things get rough, I always like to set up an handline and show up the silly people who think they need rods and reels to catch fish...
The whole idea behind hunting and fishing is to get out and enjoy nature and her fruits... a little sportsmanship is only fair... nothing wrong with the "one that got away", thank Divinity, thank the Quarry, enjoy your meals... getting them fairly only makes them better.
