What should I look for in a handgun/pistol scope?
i'm looking to buy a scope for a ruger mark 3 .22 pistol for general plinking. what features should i consider? (example; eye relief, weight, magnification...) any specific recommendations? trying to stay under $100.
i'd like a scope over a red dot because even though i'll be plinking mostly, i still want to be able to sit at a bench and go for accuracy to see what this gun is capable of.
Under $100 doesn't give you many options. The BSA PS2X20 scope is a decent one for .22's. Cost is around $60.00. That would leave enough to get some quality rings to mount it. Even though it's only 2 power, it takes some getting used to with a pistol scope.
Another option would be a red dot. With no magnification it's a lot easier to acquire your target. For just plinking, it would probably be your best bet.
