Repro Mosin Nagant side-rail PE scope mounts?
I have a 1939 Mosin Nagant that I want to put a historically accurate looking scope setup onto. For that year I need a PEM type scope, but noone makes them. I can get a repro PE type scope from Accumounts, and I am willing to call that good. Unfortunately the Accumounts bases mount to the top of the receiver and a 1939 rifle would have had a mount on the side of the receiver. Anyone know where to find a reproduction side mount for a Mosin Nagant 91/30 PE/PEM sniper?
I've built a few of these - I check www.gunbroker.com and www.ebay.com - keep checking back; there is a good chance you can find an actual period scope and mount for $350.00 or less. There is post war scopes, built in the 50's and 60's with better cross-hairs than the 40's models... they still look right.
I've even seen PEM scopes and mounts on gunbroker from time to time.
