Mount Scope Base

Recommend base, ring and scope for 10/22?
My old eyes are failing me so it's time to put glass on the 10/22, but I don't want to spend a lot of money. There's a lot of options, but I can't tell if the stuff is good or junk. Not looking for tactical gear, just a decent mount, rings and scope to help me plink away. Thanks.
Bought my 10/22 around 15 years ago, and I think I still have the box. I'll check the box to see if the mounts are in there.
That's why I like the folks here. Real life info. Thanks.
Most new Ruger 10/22 rifles came with a scope base in the box. If you don't have yours I am betting that you can find them fairly cheap online at places like gunbroker or eBay.
The base that comes standard with the Ruger is a 3/4 inch Weaver-style dovetail. But be warned. The "standard" Weaver rings made for centerfire bases will be too big and not fit properly. (I had this issue myself.) So, find some rings that are 1 inch in DIAMETER to accomodate the scope, but have the smaller base for 22 rimfire Weaver-style bases.
I have two of the Ruger 10/22 carbines. One with open sights and the other with a Nikon ProStaff scope. I don't think much of the Nikon rifle scopes, so I relegated one to my Ruger for plinking. I think they are fine cheap plinking scopes.
