What Handrail and battery is best for the DPMS M4 Carbine Airsoft Gun?
What Handrail and battery is best for the DPMS M4 Carbine Airsoft Gun. Im looking to upgrade the battery for my DPMS m4 carbine but i dont know how strong is too strong. Also The handguard that came with it is plastic and has no rails, so im looking for a RIS 2 piece hand rail for it.
Seeing as it's a DPMS, I would strongly advise you save your upgrade money and put it towards something a little higher end. I know 2 people with DPMS M4s and for cheap LPAEGs they're actually pretty nice, but can't compete with anything higher end. Anyways, if you really want to upgrade it though, I'll first address the battery. Most AEGs unless they are Li-Po ready are safe only up to a 9.6v (Mah doesn't really matter) battery, which still give you a great ROF. Any higher can really mess up your internals if they haven't been properly upgraded. If the battery for your gun is stored in the hand guard (which from your description I'm assuming it is), then getting an RIS foregrip might prove to be a bit tricky. If you get one, you will have to find a new place to store the battery, as RIS foregrips don't have enough space to house a battery. You could either use a PEQ box and attach it to your new rails, or have the gun rewired to the back and install either a fixed M16 stock or a Crane stock, all 3 upgrades of which will allow you to house a bigger battery for your gun. So, hopefully that'll help to clear up what it might take to get the upgrades you want 
. One more word of advice though...I've tried fitting some of my Echo 1 M4 Carbine's parts onto my friend's DPMS M4, and none would fit...the mag (which was Classic Army), the foregrips, or the stock, so that could mean that finding upgrade parts that will properly fit your gun might prove to be a bit of a challenge, especially since Echo 1 rifles use all the standard Marui/Classic Army parts.
