Aiming Rifle Scope
whats the idea with rifle scopes?
the scope is usually an inch or two above the barrel of the gun, so when you fire, wouldn't your bullet hit a little lower then where your aiming?
if you aim for someones head shouldn't the bullet hit the face?
im pretty sure there's some kind of explanation, so what is it?

i was sure that the answer i got was the answer to my question, but i didn't think is would be so simple
Many weapons have adjustable sights and the scope is no different. once the scope is mounted it must be adjusted for the shooter. To zero it in one makes the weapon secure and fires a shot into a target and then adjusts the cross hairs to the point of impact. If one has a laser sighting device one needs not fire a shot until it is zeroed in. Once the scope is zeroed each shot should be within a certain dimensional radius of each other. This is called grouping. It is not impossible to max the scope to place shots on top of each other but this requires a steady hand and eye.
